GREENMOUNT VILLAGE COMMUNITY WALKING GROUP

Good morning Walkers,

Our short walk on 3rd June is just over 7 miles long  and worth every step. You will go through meadows full of flowers, no horses or cows.  The first half has marvellous views towards Manchester and the eastern hills.  The second half has marvellous views towards Bolton and the western hills. 

There are four Friday night walks in June too.

A few dates for your diary:

Saturday 1^st June there is the regular monthly Drop In at Greenmount Old School from 10pm till noon.

Before this, from 9am, the Tottington and District Horticultural Society will be holding their Annual Plant Sale in the Old School yard.  See attached flyer for more details.

Also, below is an advertisement from the Tottington Centre for their ‘Call My Bluff’ event on Saturday 8^th June.

Folks,

We are planning the next Woodland Management event to take place this Friday, 31 May starting at 10am.

The place this month is Old Kays Park to do some further tree work and Balsam bashing. Meet in the car park on Hollymount Lane just off Holcombe Road at 10am, map attached.

The weather once again looks like it could impact our day, either by actually raining or the ground being so saturated that it is treacherous.

PLEASE Check your email Inbox on Friday morning because if we have to cancel the event, I will send out an email advising you not to come along before 9.15am.

Dear All,

Greenmount Village Community are holding a ‘Village Tidy Up’ on Saturday 20^th April from 10am till 12 noon.

We are hoping to get some help to spruce up the village ready for the party on the 6^th May.

If you can spare the time to help, please meet at the back of Greenmount Old School just before 10am and jobs will be distributed. These will involve –

• Litter Picking around the village green, playground, old school, etc.

• Weeding around the old school, Greenmount bench, stone wall outside doctors, Holcombe Road outside shops, etc.

• Dismantling of picnic bench on playground.

• Trimming of willow arch at the playground.

• Sweeping of the hopscotch area and general tidy up around the green.

• Putting up banners to advertise village party.
