Greenmount Village Spruce Up
We are very grateful to the kind people who keep our village looking nice and tidy by litter picking etc. However there comes a time when it is necessary to have a “Spruce Up Day”.
The next Spruce Up will be on Saturday March 21st starting at 10am and finishing around noon. We would like as many people as possible to join us at the rear of the Old School to be given jobs. They could be litter picking, tidying the Village Green, pruning hedges and many other tasks to help make the village look good at the start of the warmer weather.
Just turn up in working clothes and if you have strong gloves bring them along too. We will provide the rest, litter pickers, bags, tools etc.
A request from HMHG
Whitehead Gardens
We have received an email from Kim Griffiths who is our Neighbourhood Engagement Officer at Bury Council.
Tottington and Bury West Rotary together with partners (Council/ Martin Proffit/ Tottington Primary school / Rev Hugh Bearn and others) are working on plans to renovate and improve Whitehead Gardens opposite St Anne’s Church in Tottington.
As part of the process, and before applying for funding to do work, they need to get the views and ideas of local people ( “needs” assessment) They have a consultation open on One Community at the moment:
https://www.onecommunitybury.co.uk/whitehead-gardens-tottington-restoration-project
In addition they will be putting paper copies of the consultation (attached) in various locations around Tottington and the local area. These include the churches and the Tottington Centre.
I would be grateful if you could take time to give some thought to the project and make known any ideas that you may have, but also to circulate to your own networks, assist with mentions on social media, at meetings etc
The consultation closes on 26th April
Charity Performance
There will be a charity performance of “Hangmen” at the Theatre Royal in Ramsbottom on the 13th March.

Today’s Woodland Management is cancelled
The concern is it will be slippery underfoot, wet and miserable and not suited to felling. Also handling wet cold wood is not fun! Thanks!
