Island Lodge Update
Dear All,
I am now able to send you an update on Island Lodge and the development taking place there. Our team of contractors are using the land owned by Cormar Carpets as a compound to help get the materials transported to the areas of the lodge in need of improvement. This land will continue to be a base for further work on the lodge.
After the completion of the tree work, the contractor started reinstating and upgrading footpaths leading to the lodge. Steps have been installed to give better access which includes a handrail. Some paths have had drainage issues dealt with and tonnes of stone have been used to keep the paths in good repair, including a new stretch of fencing.
It is great to see all this progress, taking place to improve accessibility to the lodge. The current contractors will be back to complete the installation of benches around this area and then will return next year to continue with the project after the repairs to island Lodge itself by Bury Council.
I hope this helps to keep you informed of the work taking place, and you can see the benefits of the improvements. Can I remind you that money raised to fund this phase of the project has come from a private funder, to which we are very grateful.
Kind regards,
Julie Southworth

INVITATION FROM
GREENMOUNT OLD SCHOOL USERS ASSOCIATION
AGM on MONDAY 24th JUNE 2024 at 7.30pm
Everyone, is most welcome to come to this AGM
The association was formed in 1988 to save the building from demolition. We continue to raise money to keep the Old School building in good repair and to finance improvements, so that it may continue to serve the community.
All groups and organisations using the Old School building are entitled to have 2 representatives on our committee. We normally only have 2 meetings a year, when members are encouraged to suggest improvements to the building or bring to the meeting any concerns about the building. It is also a chance for people to meet other Old School users.
We do hope you or your representative(s) are able to come and hear about what has been done in 2023 and what is intended to be done in 2024.
There will be a committee meeting after the AGM.
Christine B. Taylor
Secretary of Greenmount Old School Users Assoc.
