Dear All,
As the Jubilee weekend is fast approaching there have been lots of work behind the scenes to offer you several activities to cover everyone’s interest.
Attached is a list of dates and events taking place in Greenmount throughout the public holiday period.
The village party will be different than previous years, as it is based on the Jubilee and supporting ‘The Arts’ which have suffered over the past two years.
As a result, there is a ‘Jubilee Yard Party’ at Greenmount Old School starting at 12.30am with refreshments available. Starting at 1.15pm there will be a poet performing and running children’s workshops followed by a singer. You also have an opportunity to visit an Art Exhibition at Greenmount URC.
In addition, from 12.30am the village green will host several artists demonstrating their skills – a juggler, a wood carver, face painting, Wild Souls providing crafts for the children and an opportunity to join in a Community Project in Willow Making instructed by Joy Ladds. Children can also colour their own crown. All FREE! There will also be an opportunity to buy handmade crafts.
Greenmount Cricket Club will open their bar and provide a BBQ and music to get us in the party mood. They have lots of home fixtures over the four days, including the 2nd XIV vs Todmorden on Sunday at 1pm (other fixtures are listed on the attached sheet).
I hope you can join us at some time over the weekend.
Best wishes for fabulous Jubilee celebrations. 😊
