Please find attached the latest addition of the Jigsaws available to buy from the collection at Greenmount Old School. There are new puzzles available, now reaching 148, and still more to come.
During this lockdown period, the Jigsaw Library is becoming quite popular as residents can enjoy a cosy afternoon in the warmth of their own homes. Should you wish to purchase a puzzle for just £2 please contact Anke by email or phone and she is happy to deliver your requested puzzle. Should you want more afterwards, it will only cost £1 and Anke will collect your old one and deliver a new one, if you wish to return it.
I have passed this email which may well of use to people to help ease the pressure of home schooling. Please get in touch directly with Rochelle at Morrisons if you need any further information

Good Afternoon
I’m Rochelle, the Community Champion at Morrisons Whitefield.
It’s my job to support good causes in our local community, including helping to stock local food banks, supporting key workers and the elderly and vulnerable. Due to Covid restrictions, we have been unable to run our normal school tours in store, however, we are delighted to let you know we have created a virtual Foodmaker & Shopkeeper Tour.
The virtual tour takes you around Market Street in one of our Morrisons stores including the Deli, Bakery, Fishmongers and Butchers counters. Along the way there are lots of fun and interesting facts to help children learn more about how food is made and where food comes from.
We have also created a worksheet with fun activities that children can complete during and after the video which I would be happy to share if you are interested.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or if there’s anything I can help you with. I hope you enjoy the virtual tour.
Please find attached the weekly COVID update from Pritesh Patel of the Bury North Community Hub / Bury Live Well Service.
Stay safe everyone

Bury Council operates three Civic Venues (Elizabethan Suite, Longfield Suite and Ramsbottom Civic Hall) all of which operate at a loss, and are also in need of significant financial investment in future years. Following a meeting of the Council’s Cabinet on 24th November 2020, closure of all three venues is proposed as an option, on a permanent basis, in order to generate ongoing savings, and to avoid the cost of future capital investment.
It is to be noted that a decision has not yet been made, or been pre-determined, have your say on these proposals here.
Please see below a message from Julie Bentley from Beacon Services. She has attached the latest Beacon Box, which consists of Quizzes, Book and Film suggestions, Wellbeing Walks, How to make a bird box and more. I will post updates from Beacon Box as and when I receive them. I hope you find something to keep you busy.
Keep well everyone,
Julie Southworth

The talk which the TDHS were hoping to have, “Chutney and Cheer”. on March 10th in the Greenmount Old School at 8pm has been cancelled.
Additionally they have booked the Old School for their Spring Show on April 17th. If this goes ahead can exhibitors etc please use the 2020 Schedule (they have some spare).
It is not certain if they will be able to hold this Show so we will keep you informed.
Although many residents in Greenmount have been more than happy to help collect egg boxes and carrier bags for Brandlesholme Foodbank, some are unable to deliver them. As a result my husband and I have been collecting from residents or they have dropped them off at our home.
Nazia Haque Wealth Management on Holcombe Road (the old post office), has kindly offered to become a ‘Drop Off Point’ for anyone wishing to leave carrier bags and egg boxes. Myself and my husband will collect them from here and drop them at the Foodbank on Brandlesholme Road on a regular basis.
There will be someone at Nazia’s office each day from 10am till 4pm if you are able to drop them off there. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are unable to do this and I will collect them from you.
Thank you once again for your continued support for those in need.
